July 4, 2025-North American Scrap Metal Prices Exhibited Mixed Trend on the Index
304 SS Solid prices also increased by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices witnessed mixed trend on ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, July 4, 2025. Brass/Bronze scrap prices were a mixed bag. Aluminum and Steel scrap prices witnessed no variation on Index. Copper scrap prices were down from the previous day. Meanwhile, Stainless Steel scrap prices registered marginal increase.
Copper Scrap Prices
The price of Alternator scrap remained flat over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing dropped by $0.07 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were down by $0.07 per Lb on the Index. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright declined by $0.07 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged lower by $0.02 per Lb over the day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also were down by $0.02 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices witnessed a decline of $0.07 per Lb from previous day’s level.
The prices of Copper Radiator scrap recorded a dip of $0.03 per Lb from previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap prices remained unchanged. CuYokes prices dropped by $0.01 per Lb, whereas Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices reported no change from the previous day.
The prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe held steady as of Friday, July 4, 2025.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices were down by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
The price of Romex Wire witnessed a decline of $0.02 per Lb during the day.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units and Starters dropped by $0.01 per Lb.
Xmas Lights saw no change from previous day price levels.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
1100 Scrap prices remained flat over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were steady on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too were unchanged.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions held steady over the day.
Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions remained flat when compared with the previous day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained flat. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged on July 4, 2025.
Chrome Wheels remained flat on Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices held steady over the previous day.
Litho Sheets and MLC Clips witnessed no change from previous day’s levels.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too remained unchanged.
The prices of Old Cast and UBC saw no change over the previous day.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF prices too held steady.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 Bundle prices remained flat.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS also reported no change as of Friday, July 4, 2025.
HMS 80/20 prices held steady.
Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS scrap prices were up by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
301 SS prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb.
304 SS Solid prices also increased by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
304 SS Turning witnessed a jump of $0.01 per Lb in prices as of July 4, 2025.
309 SS and 310 SS prices were up by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively on a daily basis.
330 SS prices went higher by $0.03 per Lb on the Index.
Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb, upon comparison with the day before.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region recorded mixed trend on the Index.
70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices reported decline by $0.02 per Lb in prices as of Friday, July 4, 2025.
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day price levels.
Red Brass prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb.
Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices dropped by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
