SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): ArcelorMittal announced appointment of Everton Negresiolo as CEO of its South American Long Products and mining business, effective 1 April, 2025. He will also serve as a member of the group management committee. Everton will report to Aditya Mittal, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal.

Jefferson de Paula, who will retire on April 1, 2025, is replaced by Everton. In 2010, he began working for the corporation as a commercial specialist for its operations in Brazil. He held a number of high-level positions from 2010 to 2020 before being named CEO of Acindar. He joined ArcelorMittal South America Long Products in 2023 as Vice President for Commercial and Metallics. He was appointed CEO of ArcelorMittal South America Long Products later in 2024.

Commenting on the appointment, Aditya Mittal, CEO, ArcelorMittal said that Everton’s appointment brings important continuity to the company’s South American Long Products and mining business. Furthermore, he expressed confidence that Everton will continue to progress and strengthen its South American operations.

Meanwhile, Everton said that it is a privilege for him to take up the position and an honour to succeed Jefferson.

Additionally, the company has nominated Jorge Luiz Ribeiro de Oliveira as Executive Vice President of ArcelorMittal, effective 1 April 2025.
