SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Police in Morgan Hill are investigating multiple incidents of stolen copper wire from city infrastructure, which has caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage, authorities announced Wednesday.

Copper wire from several light poles in the city was stolen early Wednesday morning, as well as on the morning of July 18, the Morgan Hill Police Department said.

“Beyond the significant financial impact, copper wire theft creates serious public safety concerns by disrupting street lighting and damaging critical infrastructure,” police wrote.
