China Scrap Prices: Copper Plunges CNY 1,400/MT as Aluminum and Brass Also Decline- November 3, 2026

Chinese copper scrap prices recorded widespread losses, with #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each plunging CNY 1,400 per metric ton. Other copper grades also declined, with losses ranging from CNY 50 to CNY 700/MT.
Aluminum and Brass/Bronze Prices Move Lower
Aluminum scrap prices weakened across all listed grades, registering declines of CNY 50–100/MT. Brass/Bronze prices also dropped, with Red Brass and Yellow Brass recording the steepest losses of CNY 200/MT, while Brass Radiator fell CNY 100/MT.
Steel and Stainless Steel Markets Remain Stable
Unlike the non-ferrous scrap categories, ferrous and stainless steel scrap prices showed no movement on the ScrapMonster Price Index. #1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap remained unchanged, while all listed stainless steel grades held steady.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices posted a marked decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Copper: All grades declined by CNY 50–1,400/MT.
Aluminum: All grades fell by CNY 50–100/MT.
Steel: Prices remained unchanged.
Stainless Steel: All grades held steady.
Brass/Bronze: Prices dropped by CNY 100–200/MT.

Copper Scrap Prices

Copper scrap prices on the ScrapMonster Price Index declined across multiple categories.

#1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each fell sharply by CNY 1,400 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire (85% Recovery) dropped CNY 700 per MT, while #2 Insulated Copper Wire (50% Recovery) and Cu/Al Radiators each fell CNY 200 per MT.

Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, and Harness Wire (35% Recovery) each declined by CNY 50 per MT. Heater Cores fell CNY 600 per MT, and Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units each fell CNY 50 per MT.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

Aluminum scrap prices on the ScrapMonster Price Index moved lower across all grades.

6063 Aluminum Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots each fell CNY 100 per metric ton. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers dipped CNY 50 per MT each.

E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet each recorded a drop of CNY 100 per metric ton. Used Beverage Cans (UBC) and Zorba 90% INF each posted a decline of CNY 50 per MT.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady on the Index, and Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Prices

Stainless steel scrap prices on the ScrapMonster Price Index registered no variation.

201 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, 309 SS, 316 SS Solid, and Shredded Stainless Steel saw no change in prices.

Also, 310 SS prices held steady on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

Brass/Bronze scrap prices in China recorded a decline.

Brass Radiator dipped by CNY 100 per MT, while Red Brass and Yellow Brass each fell by CNY 200 per MT.
