Aluminum and Stainless Steel Prices Decline
Aluminum scrap prices fell by CNY 50 per MT across 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Ingots, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet. Stainless steel prices also weakened, with 309 SS and 316 SS Solid declining by CNY 50 per MT each, while 310 SS dropped CNY 100 per MT.
Brass/Bronze Gains as Steel Prices Remain Stable
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices each increased by CNY 50 per MT, while Brass Radiator prices remained unchanged. Steel scrap prices were steady, with #1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap recording no change from the previous day's levels.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices showed a mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Copper and brass/bronze scrap prices moved higher, while aluminum and stainless steel scrap prices declined. Steel scrap prices remained unchanged.

Copper: Prices continued to climb, with clean copper grades recording gains of up to CNY 300 per MT.
Aluminum: Prices fell by CNY 50 per MT across extrusion, E.C. wire, old cast and sheet grades.
Stainless Steel: Selected grades dropped by CNY 50 per MT, with 310 stainless steel registering the steepest percentage decline.
Brass/Bronze: Scrap prices edged higher on the Index.
Steel: Prices for #1 HMS and cast iron scrap remained steady compared with the previous day.

Copper Scrap Prices

Copper scrap prices recorded modest gains on the ScrapMonster Price Index.

#1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each rose by CNY 300 per MT from the previous day.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire (85% recovery) increased by CNY 150 per MT, while Heater Cores gained CNY 100 per MT.

Meanwhile, #2 Insulated Copper Wire (50% recovery) prices remained unchanged on the Index.

Copper Transformer scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator scrap, and Harness Wire (35% recovery) also recorded no change. Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady compared with the previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots prices each declined by CNY 50 per MT compared with the previous day.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers prices remained unchanged on the ScrapMonster Price Index.

E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet scrap prices also fell by CNY 50 per MT each.

Meanwhile, UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices held steady at their previous day's levels.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady at the previous day's levels.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Prices

Prices for 201 SS, 304 SS Solid, and 304 SS Turning remained unchanged on the ScrapMonster Price Index.

Meanwhile, 309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices each declined by CNY 50 per MT, while 310 SS recorded a steeper drop of CNY 100 per MT.

Shred SS prices held steady compared with the previous day's levels.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

Brass and bronze scrap prices in China recorded modest gains on the Index.

Brass Radiator prices remained unchanged from the previous day, while Red Brass and Yellow Brass each increased by CNY 50 per MT.
