China Copper Scrap Rises CNY 350 as Aluminum and Stainless Steel Decline
Major clean copper grades rose CNY 350 per metric ton on China’s September 4 ScrapMonster Price Index, while several aluminum and stainless steel grades declined and steel scrap remained unchanged.

- #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each rose CNY 350 per metric ton.
- Several aluminum grades, including 6063 Extrusions and E.C. Aluminum Wire, declined CNY 50 per metric ton.
- 310 SS posted the largest listed decline, falling CNY 100 per metric ton.
- Red Brass and Yellow Brass gained CNY 50 per metric ton, while #1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap remained unchanged.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed movements on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, September 4, 2026.
- Copper: Select grades increased
- Aluminum: Several major grades declined
- Brass/Bronze: Red Brass and Yellow Brass advanced
- Stainless Steel: Select grades moved lower
- Steel: Prices remained stable
Copper Scrap Prices
#1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each increased CNY 350 per metric ton from the previous day.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery rose CNY 150 per metric ton.
#2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery increased CNY 50 per metric ton.
Copper Transformer Scrap and Cu Yokes were unchanged on the Index.
Cu/Al Radiators and Harness Wire 35% Recovery each rose CNY 50 per metric ton, while Heater Cores increased CNY 100 per metric ton.
Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units remained unchanged.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Aluminum Extrusions and Aluminum Ingot prices each declined CNY 50 per metric ton.
Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers remained unchanged. E.C. Aluminum Wire fell CNY 50 per metric ton from the previous day.
Old Cast aluminum and Old Sheet aluminum also declined CNY 50 per metric ton. Used Beverage Cans and Zorba 90% NF remained at the previous day’s levels.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS remained unchanged on the Index.
Cast Iron Scrap also recorded no price movement.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
- 201 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning and Shred SS: No change
- 309 SS and 316 SS Solid: Down CNY 50 per metric ton
- 310 SS: Down CNY 100 per metric ton
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
Chinese brass and bronze scrap prices recorded gains across select grades.
- Brass Radiator: No change
- Red Brass and Yellow Brass: Up CNY 50 per metric ton each
