Copper Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- July 11, 2025

The closing price of LME Copper 3-Month contract stood at USD 9,744.00 per tonne as on July 10, 2025.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):The below report analyses the weekly price trends of scrap copper across various regional markets during the past week (July 3 to July 10, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index.

North America Prices

The copper scrap prices in the region recorded increase across the board.

The biggest increase in prices over the prior week was witnessed in #3 Copper- Light Copper, whose prices edged higher by 8.28% from $4.71 per Lb to $5.10 per Lb. The weekly price movement for #3 Copper- Light Copper scrap is shown in the below graph:

 

The other copper scrap varieties to record notable increase in prices include #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, which recorded weekly jump in prices by 8.11% and 7.94% respectively.

The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe and Heater Cores were up by 7.78%, 6.86% and 6.40% respectively. Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices edged higher by 6.34% on the Index.

Also, the prices of all other copper scrap commodities in the region recorded increase over the prior week.

USA East Coast Prices

The prices of all copper scrap categories in the region witnessed notable jump in prices. #3 Copper- Light Copper prices posted the biggest increase over the week, recording jump of 8.28% from $4.71 per Lb to $5.10 per Lb.

#2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were up by 8.11% over the week, rising from $4.81 per Lb to $5.20 per Lb.

The other scrap copper categories that recorded noteworthy increase in prices included #1 Copper Bare Bright, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe and Heater Cores.

The least jump in prices was seen in Cu/Al Radiator Ends, whose prices edged higher marginally by 3.17%.

USA Midwest Prices

The copper scrap prices in the region recorded increase across the board.

The biggest jump in prices over the prior week was witnessed in #3 Copper- Light Copper, whose prices edged higher from $4.60 per Lb to $4.99 per Lb, recording week-on-week increase of 8.48%.

The other copper scrap varieties to record notable increase in prices include #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices surged by 8.30% during the week. The #1 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were up from $4.80 per Lb to $5.19 per Lb, recording a jump of 8.13%.

A notable increase in prices was seen in #1 Copper Bare Bright, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe and Heater Cores.

The rest of the regional copper scrap categories also reported week-on-week jump in prices.

USA West Coast Prices

The copper scrap metal prices in the region witnessed noticeable jump week-on-week.

The scrap categories to record biggest increase in prices from the previous week were #3 Copper- Light Copper, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing.

Also, #1 Copper Bare Bright, Copper Radiators, Cu/Al Radiators, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, Heater Cores and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded modest positive price variation during the week.

The prices of Romex Wire and Cu Yokes also increased.

Additionally, week-on-week increase in prices was reported in Copper Transformer Scrap, Scrap Electric Motors, Xmas Lights, Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Alternator, Sealed Units and Starters.

 

China Prices

All copper scrap categories in the region witnessed weekly price declines.

#2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Bare Bright recorded the biggest decline in prices during the previous week.

The #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices edged lower from CNY 75,050 per MT to CNY 73,150 per MT on the Index. 

#1 Copper Wire and Tubing reported dip in prices by CNY 1,900 per MT, from CNY 76,050 per MT during the start of the week to end at $74,150 per MT. 

#1 Copper Bare Bright also reported 2.38% fall in prices over the week.

In the meantime, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, Heater Cores, Cu/Al Radiators, #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, Cu Yokes and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices also recorded marginal drop on the Index.

Copper Transformer, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices were also down on the Index.

The least week-on-week increase of 0.28% was witnessed in Scrap Electric Motors. The weekly price chart of Scrap Electric Motors for the week ended July 10, 2025 is provided below:

 

 

India Prices

The scrap commodities in Indian market saw their prices mostly edge lower over the prior week.

The copper sheet cutting scrap prices were down by INR 14,000 per ton over the previous week to close at INR 452,000 per ton on July 10, 2025 on the Scrap Monster Index. 

The prices of Copper Armeture, Copper cable scrap, Copper heavy scrap and Copper wire bars also declined during the week ended July 10, 2025.

On the contrary, Copper utensil scrap prices recorded marginal increase. The prices of the commodity were up by 0.68%, rising from INR 885,000 per Ton to INR 891,000 per Ton. The weekly price chart of the commodity is provided below:

 

Europe Prices

The prices of all copper scrap commodities such as #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, Braziery Copper, Copper Dry Bright, Copper Radiators and Copper Tubes held steady during the course of the week.

LME Copper Market Update

The closing price of LME Copper 3-Month contract stood at USD 9,744.00 per tonne as on July 10, 2025. The LME Copper Cash Settlement contract prices increased marginally from $9,635.00 a day before to $9,752.00 per tonne.

The LME Copper stocks saw modest increase over the previous day to close at 108,100 tonnes on July 10, 2025, as compared with 107,125 tonnes on July 9, 2025.
