April 22, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Witnessed Decline on the Index
The price of 304 SS Turning also recorded no change on the Index.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Chinese Copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminum scrap prices dropped when compared with the previous day. In the meantime, Brass/Bronze, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 100 per MT each.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were down by CNY 50 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices recorded no variation over the previous day.
Copper Transformer scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.
Cu Yokes scrap prices also recorded no change.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady over the previous day’s prices.
Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices were flat on the Index.
Heater Cores prices did not change as of Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed no change over the previous day’s price.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions declined by CNY 100 per MT in prices over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 100 per MT.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded a nominal decline by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by CNY 100 per MT.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices dropped by CNY 100 per MT each as of April 22, 2025.
The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were down by CNY 50 per MT each from the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of April 22, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were flat on the Index.
304 SS Solid prices held steady over the previous day’s prices.
The price of 304 SS Turning also recorded no change on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices witnessed no variation when compared with the prior day.
310 SS scrap prices were flat as of April 22, 2025.
Shred SS prices held steady over the previous day’s price.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no variation on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of April 22, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices also held steady on the Index.
