#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices edged lower by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day’s price, while Heater Cores dropped by CNY 100 per MT.

Summary

  • Copper Scrap Prices Decline

    Chinese copper scrap prices moved lower across several key grades. #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each fell by CNY 300 per MT, while #1 Insulated Copper Wire and Heater Cores also recorded smaller declines.

  • Stainless Steel Prices See Further Weakness

    Stainless steel was another category to register price declines. 309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT each, while 310 SS scrap fell by CNY 100 per MT. Other major stainless grades remained unchanged.

  • Aluminum, Steel and Brass/Bronze Remain Stable

    Aluminum scrap prices showed no variation across the listed grades, including 6063 Extrusions, UBC and Old Cast. Steel and Brass/Bronze scrap prices also held steady, with #1 HMS, Cast Iron, Red Brass and Yellow Brass unchanged.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese aluminum scrap prices witnessed no change on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Thursday, September 24, 2025. Copper and Stainless Steel scrap prices were down from the previous day. Meanwhile, Brass, Bronze, and Steel scrap prices held steady.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were down by CNY 300 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices edged lower by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day’s price, while Heater Cores dropped by CNY 100 per MT.

The rest of the scrap, including #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery, Copper Transformer, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiators, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Scrap Electric Motors, and Sealed Units, witnessed no change in their prices on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Ingots, Aluminum Radiators, and Aluminum Transformers saw no variation in prices.

E.C Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% INF prices held steady on the Index.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady on the Index.

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, and Shred SS prices held steady on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices decreased by CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices were down by CNY 100 per MT on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no change from the previous day.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were flat on the Index.
