Chinese Stainless Steel Scrap Prices Edged Higher on the Index- July 2, 2026

The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing witnessed no price change over the previous day.

Summary

Broad Market Stability: Chinese scrap prices remained mostly unchanged on July 2, 2026, with copper, aluminum, steel, brass, and bronze scrap categories holding steady.
Stainless Steel Gains: Prices for 309 SS and 316 SS Solid increased by CNY 50/MT, while 310 SS scrap rose by CNY 100/MT compared to the previous day.
No Movement in Key Non-Ferrous Grades: Copper grades, aluminum scrap, brass, bronze, and steel scrap prices showed no daily price changes on the ScrapMonster Price Index.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices mostly remained unchanged on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Thursday, July 2, 2026. Steel, Brass and Bronze scrap prices held steady. Copper and Aluminum scrap prices also remained unchanged over the previous day. In contrast, Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing witnessed no price change over the previous day.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also remained flat.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were unchanged. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded no change over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices saw no variation in prices over the previous day. No price-change was witnessed in Cu Yokes.

Cu/Al Radiator prices remained unchanged.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady as of Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Also, Heater Cores, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices remained unchanged.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed no change in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also remained unchanged.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers saw no variation.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices remained unmoved on the Index.

Old Cast prices too were flat as of July 2, 2026.

The prices of Old Sheet and UBC held steady on the Index.

Zorba 90% INF prices saw no change from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of July 2, 2026.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS, 304 SS Solid, and 304 SS Turning prices recorded no change.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices were up by CNY 50 per MT when compared with the prior day’s price.

310 SS scrap prices also increased by CNY 100 per MT as of Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Shred SS prices saw no variation in prices over the day.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China remained unchanged.

Brass Radiator scrap prices held steady as of July 2, 2026.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were also flat on the Index.
