BIR 2026 Session to Tackle Aluminium Trade and Supply Issues
Expert speakers will then provide insights into aluminium availability in Europe, global material flows, and the European secondary aluminium market.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): At the upcoming BIR World Recycling Convention in Gothenburg, the Non-Ferrous Metals Division plenary session will focus on “Aluminium at a crossroads: trade, supply and the future of recycling,” addressing how evolving trade policies, market conditions, and geopolitics are reshaping the aluminium recycling industry.
The session will examine the potential impact of proposed European Union trade measures on recycled aluminium exports and what this could mean for recyclers, manufacturers, and global material flows. While policymakers aim to strengthen domestic supply, discussions will emphasize the importance of maintaining open and efficient markets to encourage investment, innovation, and recycling growth worldwide.
