“The combination of slower economic momentum and continuing low inflation increased the probability that FOMC could alter its intended path of monetary policy. However, we expect, as long as incoming data gradually improve and remain relatively in line with market consensus, the FOMC will start tapering its asset purchases at its 17-18 September meeting,” the analysts say.
