Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- April 25, 2025
The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal increase from $2,384.00 a day before to $2,410.00 per tonne.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide aluminum scrap metal markets for the period from April 21 to April 24, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The regional aluminum scrap prices witnessed increase over the prior week. However, a few commodities held steady.
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire and Breakage 50% Recovery reported the largest increase on the Index. The other scrap commodities to witness notable jump in prices were Mixed Aluminum Turnings and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe.
Prices for E.C. Aluminum Wire increased by 2.86% from the previous week. From $1.05 per pound at the beginning of the week, prices increased by $0.03 per pound to close at $1.08 per pound on the Index.

The price of Breakage 50% Recovery prices also recorded a similar jump by 2.86% during this period. Mixed Aluminum Turnings and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices increased as well, by 2.27% and 1.63%, respectively.
The only aluminum scrap commodities to maintain previous week price levels were Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers.
The regional scrap aluminum prices mostly edged higher when compared with the prior week. The top three gainers were E.C. Aluminum Wire, Breakage 50% Recovery and Mixed Aluminum Turnings.
The prices of A/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, 6063 Extrusions, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Chrome Wheels, MLC Clips, , Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, Zorba 90% NF, and Litho Sheets also recorded increase over the previous week.
In the meantime, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers prices held steady over the prior week.
The prices mostly reported increase when compared with the week before.
The price of Breakage 50% Recovery increased 2.94% during the course of the week, from $0.34 per pound at the start of the week to $0.35 per pound at the close. Below is the weekly price chart for the commodity:
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire increased by 2.86% on a weekly basis, from $1.05 per pound to $1.08 per pound in the week that ended on April 24, 2025.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices were up by 2.33% on a weekly basis.
All other aluminum scrap categories in the region saw price increases during the course of the week, with the exception of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers.
The regional prices of all scrap aluminum categories, except a few, posted week-on-week jump.
E.C. Aluminum Wire, Breakage 50% Recovery, and Mixed Aluminum Turnings recorded the highest jump in prices during the week.
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire on the Index closed at $1.08 per pound, up $0.03 per pound. The commodity saw an increase of 2.86% in price week over week.
Breakage 50% Recovery prices increased from $0.36 per Lb at the beginning of the week to close at $0.37 per Lb.
Prices for Mixed Aluminum Turnings increased by 2.27% from the previous week. The commodity's price increased from $0.44 per Lb to $0.45 per Lb over the previous week. The weekly price movement for Mixed Aluminum Turnings is seen in the chart below:
5052 Scrap witnessed the least increase, with prices recording nominal week-on-week rise by 1.01%.
In the meantime, prices of Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, and Aluminum Transformers held steady upon comparison with the previous week’s price.
The aluminum scrap commodities in the region witnessed mixed trend during the week ending April 24, 2025.
The prices of Aluminum Transformers registered a decline of 0.55% during the week. The closing price of the commodity stood at CNY 9,000 per MT, in comparison with CNY 9,050 per MT at the beginning of the week. The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of the commodity.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators, Zorba 90% NF and UBC also recorded week-on-week decline.
Meanwhile, the prices of 6063 Extrusions, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Aluminum Ingots, Old Cast and Old Sheet held steady on the Index when compared with the week before.
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices witnessed a jump of 1.81% from the prior week’s prices. The commodity’s prices closed at INR 225,000 per Ton as of Thursday, April 24, 2025. The weekly price chart of Aluminum utensil scrap is provided below:
The Aluminum ingots prices also recorded marginal increase by 1.74% on the ScrapMonster Index.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,442.00 per tonne as of April 24, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal increase from $2,384.00 a day before to $2,410.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks edged lower modestly over the previous day to close at 423,575 tonnes as of April 24, 2025, as compared with 425,600 tonnes a day before.
