March 5, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Inched Higher on the Index
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices were up by CNY 50 per MT each.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices witnessed no change on ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Copper, Stainless Steel and Brass/Bronze scrap prices were up from the previous day. Meanwhile, Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were up by CNY 500 per MT.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing price saw a jump of CNY 500 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 500 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were up by CNY 250 per MT over the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery witnessed an increase of CNY 100 per MT when compared with the day before.
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices were up by CNY 50 per MT each.
Cu/Al Radiators were up by CNY 100 per MT in prices.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices edged higher by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Heater Cores went higher by CNY 150 per MT on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed no change on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions recorded no variation in prices over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also remained unchanged.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers saw no variation.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices were unmoved on the Index.
Old Cast prices were flat on March 5, 2025.
The prices of Old Sheets and UBC held steady on the Index.
Zorba 90% INF prices saw no change from the previous day.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady on March 5, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices held steady on the Index.
304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices were flat on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices recorded a jump of CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the prior day.
310 SS scrap prices also were up by CNY 50 per MT as of March 5, 2025.
Shred SS prices witnessed no change over the previous day.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded an increase from the previous day.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were up by CNY 50 per MT as of Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices increased by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.
