February 11, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Posted Mixed Trend on the Index

The price of 304 SS Turning declined by CNY 100 per MT.
BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Copper scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. Also, Stainless Steel, and Brass/Bronze scrap prices dropped on the Index. Aluminum scrap prices edged higher on the Index. In contrast, Steel scrap prices held steady.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices dipped by CNY 250 per MT over the previous day.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 250 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 250 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded a decline of CNY 100 per MT on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also were down by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices held steady over the prior day’s prices.
Cu/Al Radiator prices went down by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were flat as of Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Heater Cores prices witnessed a decline of CNY 50 per MT.
In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions witnessed a jump of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were up by CNY 100 per MT.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers increased by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by CNY 100 per MT.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also increased by CNY 100 per MT each as of February 11, 2025.
The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF inched higher by CNY 50 per MT respectively when compared with the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were down by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
304 SS Solid prices also edged lower by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.
The price of 304 SS Turning declined by CNY 100 per MT.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices witnessed a decline of CNY 150 per MT each when compared with the prior day’s price.
310 SS scrap prices inched lower by CNY 200 per MT as of February 11, 2025.
Shred SS prices dropped by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded decline on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of February 11, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each when matched with the previous day’s prices.
