The innovative pharmaceutical packaging solution is composed of recyclable fiber-based corrugated cardboard insulating inserts and an exterior casing, per a news release from the company. Products can stay cool for up to 36 hours using it. In order to design the product, the corporation worked with a separate laboratory to create a computer-based parametric algorithm.

Temperature increases during storage or transit were accurately predicted by the DS Smith design team using predictive modeling approaches, which were then verified in a lab.

Tailor Temp, according to Marlena Hardy, Innovation Product Manager at DS Smith, shows the adaptability and dependability of fiber-based materials in preserving temperatures in cold chain logistics and in producing a recyclable product that satisfies sustainability goals. She noted that the company plans to soon expand Tailor Temp's capacity to sustain cool temperatures for 96 hours or even more.
