U.S. Scrap Metal Recycler Restarted Public Drop Off

Also, the metal recycling drop off will be strictly monitored to avoid residents from dropping junk materials.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Routt County, Colorado-based scrap metal recycling business D&D Enterprises, located along U.S. Highway 40 several miles west of Steamboat Springs, announced that it has reopened public drop off. The company has already started collecting recyclable scrap metals from public, which are later shipped to a recycling plant near Salt Lake City.

According to Joe Duksa, co-owner, D&D, the business has been able to achieve an important milestone in operations, by shipping nearly 250,000 pounds of metal during the initial three-month period in 2024. The company has been diverting an average of 1.9 million pounds of metal from landfill every year.

Earlier, the business had offered metals drop-off service 24-hour, seven-day a week. Following abuse of the facility by residents, the company has now decided to limit the drop-off service facility on Monday through Friday 9 AM- 4 PM. Also, the metal recycling drop off will be strictly monitored to avoid residents from dropping junk materials.

The facility is still undergoing several upgrades, including construction of a stormwater pond, as ordered by the Routt County Planning Department. The deadline to complete construction of stormwater pond and all other necessary building permit requirements is 1st July, 2024.
