TES Partners with UPS to Launch Innovative ITAD Solutions
The wide network of UPS retail outlets will accept the returned items.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Singapore-headquartered information technology asset disposition (ITAD) firm TES has joined hands with UPS to offer a corporate IT asset returns solution. The new solution allows remote employees to return their aged IT assets, which will be handled safely and sustainably. The wide network of UPS retail outlets will accept the returned items.
The scheme offers two options for returning IT assets. The first is the direct-to-mobile option in which the employee is sent a QR code to his/her mobile phone. The other method is to send a pointing letter, providing directions to return the device to the nearest UPS retail store, to the employee.

The UPS stores, upon receipt of the device, scan the QR code or record the information from the pointing letter. It selects the nearest TES location to where the items will be shipped, after packing them in accordance with the detailed packaging instructions jointly developed by TES and UPS. Thus it maintains a record of the originator and the TES facility to which they are shipped to. UPS offers real-time tracking of these shipments.
Once the shipment reaches the TES facility, it is scanned to identify the originating company. The devices are then subject to standard process, which includes reviewing, testing and sanitizing.
