DS Smith Launches New Campaign to Save Environment
The campaign focuses on reducing waste, saving money and protecting environment.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): London-based international packaging major DS Smith announced celebration of Zero Waste Week during 7th-11th, September 2020. The campaign focuses on reducing waste, saving money and protecting environment.
In a statement, the company noted that all unnecessary waste from society could be eliminated by bringing about positive changes in our way of life. For instance, designing all new products with reusable or recyclable components would result in extension of product life, which in turn will result in reduction of waste. In addition, by ensuring easy access to responsible recycling services, one could prevent the environmental impacts caused by products.
In order to achieve this goal, organizations should focus on making significant improvements in their supply chain infrastructure and recycling mechanisms.
Ds Smith noted that it had recently celebrated first year of strategic association with Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Through the partnership, it has made significant progress in boosting recyclability of its packaging. The company’s packaging solutions are already 98% recyclable. During the second year, it plans to further forward its ambitious circular economy agenda.
