TERRA ‘Done with IT’ Electronics Recycling Program Expands

TERRA’s ‘Done with IT’ program currently serves more than 236 million people in 41 states.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The ‘Done with IT’ mail-in recycling program by Nashville, Tennessee-headquartered The Electronics Reuse & Recycling Alliance (TERRA) reported further expansion with the addition of Middletown, Ohio-headquartered Cobalt (A Cohen Company).

By sponsoring TERRA’s mail-in recycling program, Cobalt will offer electronics recycling options for residents and businesses of Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. The alliance will reach out to more than 14.4 million residents of 196 regional counties from their R2 certified e-waste recycling facility in Middletown, Ohio. The programs will be focused on creating awareness about the negative environmental and health impacts of improper e-waste disposal. Further, it will provide easy access to sustainable recycling solutions.

According to Steven Napoli, President and CEO of TERRA, nearly 50 million tons of e-waste was generated across the world in 2019, with personal devices such as computers, smart phones and tablets accounting for almost 50%. Certified businesses like Cobalt that adhere to rigorous standards could offer recycling options for millions of devices, he noted.
