Cascades Launches Innovative Packaging Made from 100% Recycled Fibers
The water-based functional barrier of the tray protects it from moisture, thereby helping to preserve the freshness of food.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Cascades, Inc. has announced launch of an innovative container for packing food. The container, made from 100% recycled fibers, was launched in the North American market. The innovative food tray is completely recyclable, meeting the requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The water-based functional barrier of the tray protects it from moisture, thereby helping to preserve the freshness of food. The ability of the tray to keep its rigidity in a refrigerated environment makes it an ideal packaging solution for packing fruits, vegetables and proteins, the company press release said.

Luc Langevin , President and Chief Operating Officer of Cascades Specialty Products Group noted that the new high-perfomance tray allows tons of fibers to be diverted from landfills. The new product is part of its eco-responsible food packaging solutions portfolio. The company will continue to bring the circular economy to life, in partnership with customers, he added.
