Europe’s output remained under pressure. The European Union's 27 member countries produced 10.1 Mt, down 5.0% year-on-year, while the Other Europe region countries reported a 1.4% decline in output to 3.6 Mt.
The Middle East experienced the steepest dip in production, with output plunging 20.4% to 3.6 Mt. Russia and other CIS countries, together with Ukraine, recorded a 1.9% decline to 6.1 Mt. Meanwhile, South American output edged up 0.2% to 3.5 Mt.
