Kaiser Aluminum Appoints Fred Stephan as New CEO and President

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tennessee-headquartered Kaiser Aluminum Corporation has selected Fred Stephan as its next Chief Executive Officer and President. The appointment, considered to be part of Kaiser Aluminum’s planned leadership succession, will take effect on November 1, 2026.

According to a company news release, Stephan will take over from Keith Harvey, who has led Kaiser Aluminum as CEO since 2020. Stephan will also join the company’s Board of Directors when he assumes his new position and will be based at Kaiser’s headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee.

Stephan brings extensive experience in manufacturing and industrial operations. Most recently, he was Chief Operating Officer of Amcor’s Global Flexible Packaging Solutions business. From 2019 to 2024, he served as President of Amcor Flexibles North America. He previously held the position of President of Bemis North America. Also, he has worked in senior management roles at leading global firms including Johns Manville and General Electric.

Stephan holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University. His appointment is expected to provide Kaiser Aluminum with experienced industrial leadership.
