SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has officially commissioned the United Arab Emirates' largest aluminium recycling facility at Al Taweelah. This marks a significant step in the company's sustainability strategy and is part of the company’s broader global recycling expansion.

The new plant has a capacity to process approximately 185,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap annually, converting post-consumer and selected pre-consumer scrap into premium low-carbon aluminium billets and T-bars marketed under the RevivAL brand.

The facility enables aluminium scrap generated within the UAE to be processed domestically rather than exported, strengthening local manufacturing while making EGA the country's largest aluminium scrap consumer.

Construction of the recycling plant required approximately four million work hours and was completed without any lost-time injuries. Commercial production began in February 2026. The commissioning process was temporarily interrupted following regional security disruptions in late March, but resumed later in April. The company expects the plant to reach full operating capacity within six months, subject to scrap availability.
