Chinese Scrap Metal Market Sees Modest Gains on the Index– April 3, 2026

#2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices also increased by CNY 450 per MT on the Index.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices mostly remained unchanged on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, April 3, 2026. However, a small increase in prices was recorded in Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap.

§ Aluminum: Recorded no variation

§ Brass/Bronze: Minor increase in prices

§ Stainless Steel: Witnessed no change

§ Steel: Remained stable

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing prices edged higher by CNY 450 per MT from the previous day.

#2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices also increased by CNY 450 per MT on the Index.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire (85% Recovery) recorded a jump of CNY 200 per MT, while #2 Insulated Copper Wire (50% Recovery) increased by CNY 50 per MT compared to the prior day.

Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices continued to hold steady on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiator prices registered an increase of CNY 50 per MT from the previous day.

Harness Wire (35% Recovery) prices remained stable as of Friday, April 3, 2026.

Heater Cores prices were up by CNY 100 per MT on the Index.

Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices also recorded no change.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions prices remained unchanged from the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices were also flat on the Index.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no price movement.

E.C. Aluminum Wire prices registered no change on the Index.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices held steady as of April 3, 2026.

UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices likewise recorded no change compared to the prior day.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices remained steady as of April 3, 2026.

Cast Iron Scrap prices recorded no change.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

· 201 SS: Prices remained stable

· 304 SS Solid: Held steady

· 304 SS Turning: Registered no change

· 309 SS: Followed a flat trend

310 SS prices were unmoved as of Friday, April 3, 2026.

316 SS Solid prices were flat from the previous day’s prices.

Shred SS prices reported no variation on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

Brass and Bronze scrap prices in China recorded increase as of April 3, 2026.
