BIR’s New LME Academy Video Breaks Down Recycled Metals Trading
As part of the rollout, BIR will release its first Academy video focused on the London Metal Exchange (LME) in mid-February.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) has launched its new BIR Academy “More Knowledge Together” educational video series, a flagship initiative aimed at sharing industry knowledge, clarifying complex market and policy topics, and supporting the next generation of recycling professionals worldwide.
The launch is accompanied by a general introduction video outlining the scope, structure, and ambition of the series, reinforcing BIR’s role as a global platform for knowledge-sharing, advocacy, and business development. Developed under the co-chairmanship of Murat Bayram and Caroline Craenhals, the series brings together leading experts from across the global recycling value chain to deliver practical, accessible, and high-quality learning content.

BIR President Susie Burrage OBE said the initiative reflects BIR’s commitment to empowering members worldwide through modern, engaging educational tools. The series will progressively cover market structures, regulations, sustainability challenges, and emerging trends, with further videos to be released on a rolling basis.
