Goodwill Houston Partners With CompuCycle to Boost Electronics Recycling

CompuCycle processes all electronics in-house at its 130,000-square-foot dual-certified facility, ensuring complete oversight from collection through final materials processing.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Goodwill Houston and CompuCycle have partnered to give residents a convenient and trusted way to donate and recycle household electronics while supporting local jobs and environmental protection.

Under the collaboration, Houston-area residents can drop off laptops, desktops, tablets, monitors, small printers, and other household electronics at participating Goodwill Greater Houston donation centers. Electronics suitable for resale will be sold to fund Goodwill’s job training, education, and community service programs. Items that cannot be resold will be transported to CompuCycle’s certified Houston facility for responsible recycling.

CompuCycle processes all electronics in-house at its 130,000-square-foot dual-certified facility, ensuring complete oversight from collection through final materials processing. The company handles sorting, separation, and recycling locally, rather than transferring materials to third-party processors, maintaining a secure and controlled chain of custody.

The recycler holds both R2 and e-Stewards certifications and operates one of the nation’s few e-plastics processing lines capable of converting complex electronic plastics into reusable single-polymer materials for domestic manufacturing.
