AISI Welcomes Johann Steiner to AISI Board of Directors

Steiner has been with Outokumpu for more than a decade and was named to his current position at Outokumpu in October.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Iron and Steel Institute’s (AISI) Board of Directors yesterday elected Johann Steiner, Outokumpu president, business area Americas, as a member of AISI’s Board.

AISI Chairman Lourenco Goncalves, chairman, president and CEO of Cleveland-Cliffs, said, “As a long-time leader in the stainless steel industry, Johann knows first-hand the critical policy issues facing American steel ― particularly regarding global unfair foreign trade practices that have impacted all AISI members. We welcome him to the AISI Board.”

Kevin Dempsey, AISI president and CEO, said, “ Johann’s expertise in the steel industry, particularly the stainless steel industry, brings an important perspective to our Board. We look forward to Johann’s outstanding participation on the many critical issues facing steel.”

Steiner has been with Outokumpu for more than a decade and was named to his current position at Outokumpu in October. Most recently, Steiner held the position of executive vice president for strategy, sustainability and people at Outokumpu. He is now based in Calvert, Alabama.
