The year-to-date capability utilization rate improved to 76.9%, compared to 75.5% last year, highlighting stronger operational efficiency across U.S. mills.

Regional production breakdown for the week includes (in thousands of net tons): North East: 115, Great Lakes: 513, Midwest: 254, Southern: 794, and Western: 60, totaling 1,736.

Industry analysts say market direction will depend on trends in construction steel consumption, automotive output, and scrap price movements in December.
