SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Steel Dynamics, Inc., a leading industrial metals producer and recycler, has announced the appointment of Matt Bell as Vice President of Metals Recycling and President of OmniSource, effective immediately.

The company stated that Bell will oversee operations and strategic initiatives across its metals recycling platform, succeeding Miguel Alvarez, who has transitioned to lead Steel Dynamics’ aluminum flat-rolled products business.

In a company announcement, Mark D. Millett, Chairman and CEO of Steel Dynamics, expressed confidence in Bell’s leadership, highlighting his strong record of operational excellence and commercial insight. “Matt has demonstrated outstanding leadership and a consistent ability to elevate performance and efficiency across the recycling division,” Millett said.

Bell, who joined Steel Dynamics in 2016, has held multiple leadership roles, most recently serving as Vice President of Commercial for OmniSource since 2023. Before joining the company, he gained extensive experience in the metals recycling sector through various senior positions.

Steel Dynamics noted that the appointment underscores its continued focus on strengthening leadership and optimizing its recycling operations to support sustainable growth in the metals industry.
