worldsteel Announced Proud Winners of 16th Steelie Awards
The ‘Innovation of the year’ award was won by Infra Build’s innovative lower-embodied carbon reinforcing steel solution, SENSE 600.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has announced the winners of the 16th edition of the Steelie Awards, recognizing member companies for their outstanding contributions to the global steel industry over the past year. The awards are presented across six categories, celebrating innovation, sustainability, and excellence in people and communications.
In the ‘Excellence in Low-Carbon Steel Production’ category, EMSTEEL was honored for its multi-lever net-zero strategy. Infra Build won the ‘Innovation of the Year’ award for its lower-embodied carbon reinforcing steel solution, SENSE 600.
Ternium received the ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ award for its renewable energy initiative in Argentina, Winds of Change, while HBIS Group Co. Ltd. won ‘Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment’ for its LCA+Life Well-Being Index Collaborative Evaluation System, which promotes sustainable use of metal decorative products.
In the people-focused category, ArcelorMittal was recognized for its initiative supporting army veterans and families of fallen employees. The company also won ‘Excellence in Communications Programmes’ for its involvement with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Additionally, EMSTEEL, ArcelorMittal, Mobarakeh Steel Company, POSCO, and Tata Steel Limited were honored with the worldsteel Safety and Health Excellence Recognition 2025 for their outstanding safety performance.
