Nonprofits Collaborate to Host Electronics Recycling Event in Catoosa
Electronic Synergy Foundation said that it will wipe out all personal data from the collected electronic items.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The first-ever electronic recycling collection event will be held by nonprofit Keep Katoosa Beautiful, enabling the secure disposal of obsolete gadgets. The event will take place at the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce, located at 1801 State Highway 66, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Electronic Synergy Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Tulsa that operates an electronics resale store off Sheridan Road, is collaborating with the event to collect e-waste. According to Shenandoah Stites, Director of Keep Katoosa Beautiful, the free event will be accessible to both individuals and organizations, not only those in Katoosa.
The accepted items include radioactive materials including smoke detectors, light bulbs, medical waste and other biohazard and items containing freon such as refrigerators, air conditioners.
According to the Electronic Synergy Foundation, all personal information will be removed from the gathered electronic devices. It will either be sold to raise money for its own operations or donated to other nonprofit organizations. The local environment will be shielded from harmful elements like lead, mercury, and cadmium by recycling the objects in an environmentally friendly manner if they cannot be reused.
