Sofidel Finalized Acquisition of Royal Paper’s U.S. Assets

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading international tissue paper manufacturer Sofidel, with headquarters in Italy, declared that it has completed the purchase of Royal Paper's U.S. assets. According to reports, the parties have signed an Asset Purchase Agreement (APA). It should be mentioned that the deal was initially revealed in early April of this year.

All required approval and closing procedures and criteria have been met, according to the company's news statement. 

Three of Royal Paper's Arizona plants will join Sofidel's production footprint as a result of the deal. This includes two converting facilities in Phoenix and the paper mill in Gila Bend, which has an estimated yearly production capacity of 61,000 metric tons. Additionally, the deal will expand Sofidel's portfolio by adding another converting facility in Duncan, South Carolina.

Speaking on the development, Sofidel CEO Luigi Lazzareschi said the acquisition is a significant turning point in the company's expansion into the North American market. It will be able to greatly increase its presence in the Western U.S. because to the location of the purchased businesses. According to Luigi, the deal will increase Sofidel's efficiency and capacity to provide customer service.

As a result, Sofidel currently runs 15 sites throughout the US, which contributes to over half of its overall revenue.
