TV Narendran, the CEO and MD of Tata Steel, claims that the business produced 30.92 million tonnes of steel in India, the UK, the Netherlands, and Thailand, out of a total capacity of 35 million tonnes. By 2030, the corporation wants to increase its ability to produce 40 million tonnes of steel in India. Additionally, a scrap-based electric arc furnace (EAF) technique is also being used at the Port Talbot site in South Wales to replace the conventional blast furnace method.

A few years ago, Tata Steel established a recycling facility close to Delhi. By the end of this fiscal year, Ludhiana's 0.75 million-ton recycling-based steelmaking plant will be operational. In the UK and the Netherlands, the business is replacing its closed blast furnaces with EAFs.

By 2035, Tata Steel wants all of Europe to be free of blast furnaces. The region's steel manufacturing facilities will accelerate its green push by using alternative process paths.
