Scrap Pile Catches Fire at Taunton Recycling Center
Video sent to 12 News showed flames and black smoke billowing into the air.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Taunton firefighters spent Thursday afternoon putting out a fire at a scrap metal yard.
The department said crews responded just before 1:30 p.m. to One Way Recycling on West Water Street and arrived to find a “pile of scrap material” on fire.
Video sent to 12 News showed flames and black smoke billowing into the air.
Firefighters were still pulling apart the scrap pile and putting out hot spots as of 3:15 p.m. Officials said they expected to remain on scene for some time.
