International Paper Breaks Ground on New Iowa Greenfield Packaging Facility

The box plant will help the company meet the growing demand for high-quality sustainable packaging in the region.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): International Paper (IP), a global pioneer in sustainable packaging solutions with its headquarters located in Memphis, Tennessee, announced the groundbreaking of its brand-new, cutting-edge greenfield packaging factory in Waterloo, Iowa. The facility is expected to open for business in the fourth quarter of the following year. About 65 additional employment will be added to the current plant.

A corporate news statement states that the new plant, which is situated in the center of the Midwest, would primarily concentrate on offering customized packaging solutions to the protein segment. The box plant will assist the business in satisfying the region's rising need for premium ecological packaging.

Modern machinery and technology at the Waterloo facility will enable the business to provide creative and environmentally friendly packaging solutions. Additionally, it integrates contemporary safety elements to guarantee safe and efficient operations.

John Berry, Group Vice President, International Paper, commented on the historic development, saying the business is excited to invest in the city of Waterloo and to start construction on the plant. He went on to say that it looks forward to Waterloo's sustained future. He added that the facility shows the company's commitment to providing its clients with dependable and high-quality products as well as its desire to increase its footprint in developing regions.
