SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) announced the launch of ZMAG coated steel- a revolutionary new carbon flat rolled coated steel product. The company claims that the new product is more resilient and sustainable than existing products on the market. It will bring unprecedented reliability and durability to several industries including solar, automotive, and construction.
ZMAG coated steel has a zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating that offers up to five times the corrosion resistance of traditional galvanized steel, according to a news release from the business. It is made entirely in the United States; it is melted, formed, and coated at PRO-TEC in Ohio.
James Bruno, Senior Vice President – Business Development and President – U. S. Steel Kosice highlighted that ZMAG steel can withstand harsh and corrosive environments. The coated steel product enjoys unmatched longevity. The production process of the product reduces waste, upholding the commitment to reduce its environmental impact, he added.
The U.S. Steel ZMAG coated steel product is covered by an exclusive 25-year warranty, the press release said.
