Scrap Metal Fire Pauses Operations at West Toledo Business
TFRD states that the warehouse lot, located off North Detroit Avenue, sustained no damage to it's buildings.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Toledo Fire and Rescue Department responded to a scrap metal fire in west Toledo at the OmniSource Corporation facility around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Authorities on scene say operations at the facility were temporarily halted and the warehouses were evacuated at the time of the fire. No injuries were sustained by employees or first responders.
Crews on scene tell WTOL 11 that the fire was put out in approximately 10 minutes after they arrived.
TFRD states that the warehouse lot, located off North Detroit Avenue, sustained no damage to it's buildings.
It is unclear which building the fire stemmed from. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The facility has since resumed normal business operations.
