International Paper Announced New Leadership Appointment
He will lead the company’s Container and Containerboard businesses in North America and will report directly to CEO Andy Silvernail.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Memphis, Tennessee-headquartered International Paper (IP) announced appointment of Tom Hamic to new leadership role. The Board of Directors has appointed him to the newly created role of Executive Vice President and President of North American Packaging Solutions, effective September 1, 2024. He will lead the company’s Container and Containerboard businesses in North America and will report directly to CEO Andy Silvernail.

Commenting on Tom’s appointment, Silvernail reminded that he is a strategic and effective leader with a long track record of success. The Board is confident of his capability to lead the team and is looking forward to work together in delivering service excellence for its customers and profitable growth to its valuable shareholders, he added.
Hamic joined IP in 1992. Since then, he has served in various leadership roles, including in sales, marketing, finance, strategic planning, both in the U.S. and Europe. He was elevated as a company officer in 2009. In 2019, he was elected as senior vice president. Most recently, he has been serving as senior vice president and general manager, North American Container and Chief Commercial Officer.
