Large Metal Pile Catches on Fire at Montgomery County Recycling Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Heavy smoke poured from the Montgomery County Transfer Station as fire crews Sunday evening worked to extinguish a large burning pile of scrap metal, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).
At around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, officials said they were called to an outside fire at the Frederick Road facility, situated near the Shady Grove Metro Station.
The fire was contained roughly an hour later, with heavy equipment used to douse hot spots.
