SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): London-headquartered multinational packaging business, DS Smith, has been named as one of the world’s most sustainable companies by Time Magazine. The company has been recognized as the highest-ranked packaging company in the Sustainable Companies List 2024. Also, it is one of the only two UK-listed manufacturing companies to feature in the list.
The prestigious listing is a testament to DS Smith’s commitment to sustainability, which sets apart the company as a leader in the packaging sector.
Commenting on the prestigious recognition, Wouter van Tol, Head of Sustainability and Community Affairs at DS Smith noted that the recognition from Time Magazine is a powerful validation of its Now & Next Sustainability Strategy. The company is committed to help its customers to continue their transition to a low carbon, circular economy, he added.
Time Magazine, in collaboration with Statista, initially made a comprehensive selection of companies from over 5,000 of the world's largest and most influential companies, based on several criteria including revenue, market capitalisation, and public prominence. Later, it used a 4-step process to evaluate these companies based on more than 20 key data points, in order to identify the top 500 companies.
