Eastman and Tri-Cities Airport Partnered on Plastic Waste Collection
The plastics thus collected will be sorted and processed at Eastman’s new mixed plastics processing facility at its Kingsport, Tennessee, manufacturing site.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Kingsport, Tennessee-headquartered leading chemical industry company Eastman Chemical Company has partnered with Tri-Cities Airport on a joint program aimed at collection of plastic waste from the airport. The partnership is one among many such initiatives undertaken by Eastman in support of circular economy and sustainability of its operations.

As part of the strategic partnership, plastic recycling receptacles have been placed throughout convenient locations at the airport. These will enable collection of items including plastic bottles and food containers for responsible recycling. The plastics thus collected will be sorted and processed at Eastman’s new mixed plastics processing facility at its Kingsport, Tennessee, manufacturing site.
Brad Lich, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Eastman said that the company is happy to announce another local partnership to support the fight against rising plastic waste crisis. The collaboration demonstrates the shared vision of both the partners towards a more sustainable future.
Gene Cossey, president and CEO of the Tri-Cities Airport Authority noted that the initiative provides convenient recycling options for its passengers, contributing to the innovative solutions developed in the region.
