Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- 19th April, 2024
The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract edged higher marginally from $2,581.00 a day before to $2,600.00 per tonne.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide markets for the past one-week period (12th to 18th April, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The prices witnessed notable increase over the prior week.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators surged the most.
The Aluminum Radiators prices recorded an increase by 8.33% over the previous week. The prices edged higher by $0.03 per Lb to close at $0.39 per Lb on Index. The chart below represents the price movement in Aluminum Radiators during the past week:
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators too witnessed notable surge, with prices going higher by 4.65% and 4.00% respectively.
A few scrap varieties such as Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery witnessed no change in prices over the prior week.
The regional scrap aluminum prices edged higher when compared with the prior week. The top three gainers were Aluminum Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators.
The prices of Mixed Aluminum Turnings and MLC Clips recorded least surge. The prices of these commodities rose by 1.92% and 2.47% respectively.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery held steady on Index.
The prices reported significant increase when compared with the week before.
Aluminum Radiators prices surged from $0.35 per Lb from the beginning of the week to close at $0.38 per Lb.
The Al/Cu Radiators/Fe prices witnessed 4.72% weekly surge, witnessing a rise from $1.27 per Lb to $1.33 per Lb during the week ended 18th April, 2024.

The Al/Cu Radiators prices too were up by 4.05% over the previous week.
The regional prices of all scrap aluminum categories, except Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery posted week-on-week surge.
The Aluminum Radiators prices surged the most, followed by Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Al/Cu Radiators.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices declined the most during the previous week.
Both the above two scrap categories saw their prices drop by CNY 450 per MT over the prior week, translating to a week-on-week decline of 2.47%.

The 6063 Extrusions prices too dipped lower by 2.44%, falling from CNY 18,450 per MT during the previous week to CNY 18,000 per MT this week.
The least weekly decline in prices was reported in UBC, whose prices recorded fall by 1.57% week-on-week.
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices edged higher from INR 218,000 per ton during the start of the week to INR 223,000 per ton on 18th April, 2024. A similar increase by INR 5,000 per ton was recorded in Aluminum ingots prices over the week.

The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) remained flat during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
Meantime, the closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,592.00 per tonne as on 18th April, 2024. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract edged higher marginally from $2,581.00 a day before to $2,600.00 per tonne.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined over the previous day to close at 509,250 tonnes on 18th April, 2024, as compared with 513,850 a day before.
