Troopers Investigating Theft of Scrap Metal
State Police in Punxsutawney received a report of a theft of scrap metal.
Police say the theft happened around 10:20 p.m. on March 26 near Knox Road and Cressley Drive in North Mahoning Township, Indiana County.
This is an active investigation.
DUI in Winslow Township
PSP Punxsutawney initiated a traffic stop on a 2004 Ford Focus on Reynoldsville Falls Creek Road, near Stewart Road, in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, for multiple lane violations around 12:36 a.m. on Sunday, March 31.
Police say a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emanating from within the vehicle among other visual indicators of suspected alcohol-related impairment.
The operator—a 58-year-old Falls Creek man—was instructed to exit his vehicle and proceeded to attempt to conduct a battery of field sobriety tests.
He was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
This investigation is ongoing.
