Radius Recycling Released FY2023 Sustainability Report
The company surpassed the goal of reducing Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from its recycling operations by 25%, as compared with 2019 baseline.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Radius Recycling- the global leader in metals recycling announced release of its Fiscal 2023 Sustainability Report. The report titled ‘Where Change Begins’ outlines the efforts by the company to advance a circular economy by promoting recovery, reuse and recycling of key metals.
According to the report, the company recycled 4.7 million tons of ferrous and nonferrous metals during the fiscal year. Also, it sold 4 million recycled auto parts and produced 521,000 tons of low carbon emission finished steel products. The sales volume of nonferrous material recovered from shredding operations surged higher by 7%.
The company surpassed the goal of reducing Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from its recycling operations by 25%, as compared with 2019 baseline. It reported zero instances of serious injuries or fatalities. Also, nine out of its ten facilities were free of any lost time injuries.
Tamara Lundgren, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated that the sustainability framework based on three pillars: People, Planet, and Profit created nearly a decade ago has continued to deliver significant impact to stakeholders. She thanked the entire team of company employees in accomplishing major achievements during the fiscal.
