Diamond drilling in the Makosa areas will provide samples for metallurgical tests.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Thor Explorations Ltd (TSX-V:THX, AIM:THX, OTC:THXPF) reported 'significant' gold mineralisation from the Makosa gold deposit and the Sambara prospect at its Douta gold project in Senegal.
Douta includes the Makosa deposit, which boasts a total resource of roughly 1.78 million ounces of gold, with an indicated resource of 20.2 million tonnes (Mt) and an inferred resource of 24.1 Mt grading 1.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) for 909,400 oz Au.
A reverse circulation infill drilling program aims to upgrade the inferred resources to indicated status, targeting material within the optimised pit shells.
Diamond drilling in the Makosa areas will provide samples for metallurgical tests.
Additionally, exploration at the Sambara prospect and the discovery of a new prospect, Makosa East, have been announced.
Recent drilling results from Makosa Tail included highlights of a high of 23.35g/t Au over 3 metres (m) and notable results like 8.08g/t Au over 8m. The findings span depths from the surface to 96m.
