SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): EMR Ltd.- the UK-based scrap metal processor makes use of advanced separation techniques at its plants to ensure sustainable and efficient recycling and recovery of precious metals. By doing so, the company ensures that valuable materials do not reach landfill.
The scrap metal recycling company uses different techniques to separate ferrous metals such as steel, than non-ferrous metals like copper, aluminum and precious metals. Also, the company’s plastic recycling business employs some of the world’s most advanced processing technologies.
Anthony Marrett, Managing Director at EMR Invenens noted that deployment of advanced separation processes has reduced the quantity of materials from its sites going to landfills. Also, its separation technology has helped the company to sell on materials with very low carbon footprint to customers, he added.
In addition to traditional separation techniques using magnets and eddy current separators, the EMR facilities also uses over 100 other separation techniques across its sites. The separation techniques remove unwanted materials. The final product is validated at EMR laboratories to confirm the purity of the metal.
