AISI Join Forces to Launch Steel Bridge Lecture Series

Michael Barker, Ph.D., P.E., professor of civil and architectural engineering at the University of Wyoming will deliver the lectures through the WyoLearn Learning Management System.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) joined forces with the Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance, the University of Wyoming, American Institute of Steel Construction and the National Steel Bridge Alliance to provide a six-part live-lecture educational series. The free series will cover various aspects of designing, fabricating and constructing steel bridges.

According to AISI press release, the lecture series titled “Steel Bridge Education Lectures: From Concept to Delivery” will be held from 4th-20th, April 2022 on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm EDT. It could be viewed in real time or as recorded sessions and targets students, faculty and anyone else with an interest in steel bridges.

Michael Barker, Ph.D., P.E., professor of civil and architectural engineering at the University of Wyoming will deliver the lectures through the WyoLearn Learning Management System. He has an experience of over 30 years in bridge design and construction.

The lecture series is considered timely especially on account of the recent passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which has already released funding towards repairing or replacing thousands of bridges in the country.

The participants will be provided a Certificate of Completion at the end of the series, subject to clearing quizzes at the end of each lecture.
