TES has already started providing support to CATL in collection and recycling of batteries in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC). As a next step, the partnership plans to establish a training center in Singapore in order to collaborate on research and development projects.
The partnership will extend the services across new geographies. For instance, a new battery recycling site is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of this quarter in Shanghai, China. This will serve as a springboard for the development of a larger recycling plant in Northern China over the next couple of years.
Thomas Holberg, Global Vice President, TES Sustainable Battery Solutions said that the company plans to build on its existing global network of recycling facilities and that CATL will be an important partner for it on many levels as it continues its tremendous growth in future.
