SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Li-Cycle Corp. announced that it has entered into strategic partnership with Atlis Motor Vehicles- a startup mobility technology company to boost lithium-ion battery recycling.
Atlis Motor Vehicles is currently developing battery cells and packs, and the necessary charging infrastructure, with production slated to begin next year. The unique technology will be capable of recharging a 500-mile range battery in less than 15 minutes. The collaboration with Li-Cycle will help the company to become more environmentally responsible. In addition, it will make significant contributions to its bottom line, said the company’s CEO and founder Mark Hanchett.
Li-Cycle believes that recycling of EV batteries will have huge positive impact on the environment. Incidentally, around 2 million tonnes of lithium-ion batteries are expected to become available for recycling across the globe by 2025. Li-Cycle will help the startup to meet its recycling needs by using its innovative lithium-ion recycling technologies.
Recently, NFI Group had expanded its partnership with Li-Cycle on heavy-duty li-ion battery recycling for buses.
